american: 1 tablespoon ground beans : 1/2 cup water

So I am trying to up my protein intake but coffee seems muted after I add my protein powder. I took a chance on this coffee since they make another blend I adore. This stands up to my powder and I can actually taste the notes. I don't feel like I'm drinking protein coffee. It tasted like I'm drinking regular coffee. Absolute masterpiece.
